The practice of being full of gratitude changes everything. In todays busy, noisy world it is so easy to get stuck in a cycle of comparison, hurry and frustration. It is so important to remember to keep your heart open to gratitude.

Gratitude slows us down. It softens out hearts. It opens our eyes to the blessings of the Lord, we can see them woven in our everyday.

When I find myself slipping into a slump, nothing pulls me out faster then pausing to reflect on all of God’s gifts-big or small and giving thanks.

Gratitude does not just shift our perspective; it reorients our hearts back to Him.

This post is all about practical, soul refreshing ways to live a life full of gratitude- even in the middle of messy motherhood filled days.

1: Say It Out Loud:

There’s power in speaking thanks aloud. When you declare, “Lord, I am grateful for this moment,” it becomes more than a passing thought—it’s an offering. Speaking gratitude strengthens it, like a seed taking root. Try it with simple moments through out the day.

In today's day and age it is so easy to see what you don't and what others do. Those things don't matter though. You can not take material things with at the end, but your attitude you can take. Focus on the good things that you do have, even if you think they are small, they are worth being grateful for. The more you are grateful for the little things the easier it gets to live a life of gratitude.

5: Remember Nothing Is Permanent:

Bad moments do not last, if you think back to even just a month ago you were not in the same spot as you were. The bad times will come to an end, the Lord will provide better times. It is incredibly important to stay full of gratitude even when things do not go to your plan. Everything is in God's timing. It is always helpful for me to remember this too shall pass and nothing is permanent.

6: Use Positive Language:

Switching the way you speak can change truly many things in your life. It can help train your brain into a mindset of gratitude. There is so many wonderful and cheerful word to use and add to your vocabulary. By adding more positive speech to your day you can see a change in your attitude. Words are powerful, use your them to your advantage and make a change to your outlook on life.

7: A Jar of Gratitude:

You can start by writing down on a slip of paper what you are grateful for and why you are grateful it. A good setup for the slips of paper is " I am grateful for ______ today because _______" you can fill in the blanks with anything you want. It does not matter how big or small. You can look back on what you wrote down and put in the jar to see what you were grateful for.

Living a life of gratitude takes time, but is so refreshing to be mindful and grateful for everything the Lord has given us. It helps me see how invested He is in me and my life when I take the time to reflect on what He has given me. Becoming a mother truly helped me realize how important those little things are. I am beyond grateful for every breath my girls take, this life is not guaranteed so take time to breath and keep an open heart. I have found I truly have seen a change in all aspects of my life since living a life filled with gratitude!
